In Secondary, students follow the British National Curriculum at the same time as still supplementing their studies with Spanish and Catalan Language and Humanities on a daily basis. The Secondary school is divided into Key Stages 3 and 4 and is taught by subject specialists throughout.
In Key Stage 3 – years 7, 8 and 9 (11 to 14 years of age) students still study all subjects in the curriculum which form the foundations in which to build their future academic studies. From Year 7 – the equivalent of “6º de Primaria”, students also study French as additional language.
In Key Stage 4 – years 10 and 11 (14 to 16 years of age) students are prepared for their IGCSE examinations (International General Certificate of Secondary Education).
During this stage of their education, they choose to study a selection of subjects (options). A wide variety of subjects are offered such as, Business Studies, Art and Design, Information Communication Technology (ICT) or Computing, Physical Education, History, Geography, etc. There is also an extended PSHE Programme.
In Secondary we help our students to assume responsibility for their own learning, to take a disciplined approach to their work, and to make a contribution to the community. We provide a clear framework within which they can develop both as students and individuals.
We organise individual school tours all year round. We encourage you to come and visit.
