Secondary school

Teaching values to our students is more important today than ever. As educators and parents, we are students’ greatest influence and it is our responsibility to teach them to be people with values so that they can grow up to be loving, respectful and confident adults.

In Secondary, students follow the British National Curriculum while continuing with the compulsory subjects of Spanish Language and Literature and Social Studies. Secondary school is divided into two cycles, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The subjects are taught by teachers specialised in each subject.

In Key Stage 3 – Year 7 and Year 8 (from 11 to 13  years), students continue with the same subjects from the curriculum that are the basis on which to build their future academic studies. In Year 7, equivalent to Primary 6, we introduce French or German as a foreign language.

In Key Stage 4 – Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 (from 13 to 16 years old) students are prepared for IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education).

During this stage, they choose to study a selection of complementary (optional) subjects. A wide variety of options are offered including Business Studies, Art and Design, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Physical Education, History, Geography, etc. In addition, the PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) program is expanded.

In Secondary, we help our students to take responsibility for their studies, to be disciplined with their work and to make contributions to the community. We create an environment in which the student can develop as a student and as a person and in which they can reach their full potential.
