On October 7th we will host our Autumn Fair (from 12:00 to 3:00pm, Calle Padres Dominicos, 1, Madrid). We will have fun and raise money for Fundación Aladina. Don’t miss it!

Math’s day in primary

Our whole primary school had the math’s day on Monday 14th March.  Children were invited to come to school wearing clothes with numbers, shapes or patterns on them to complement our maths theme. They had lot’s of fun with all the different maths activities!

Core Values

We continue to work hard on getting the students to understand our Core Values of Respect; Responsibility; Kindness; Fairness; and Personal Best.  These are the basis for sound relationships in school and in life.  Recently, 7B worked through the values in an active way and were focussed at identifying their positive features and how they were exhibited by their friends.  A lovely lesson!

Book week in primary

In our primary site we had our “book week”, with activities such us; a book reading competition, a book fair, a “caught reading” photo competition, a book swap, storytelling and on the last day the children ( and the staff!) had to come dress up as a book character. We had so much fun and read many many books!

Sixth Form Ice Skating Trip and Meal

To celebrate the end of our first ever Sixth Form’s first term, we had a trip to the Palacio de Hielo and a restaurant to help get everyone in the Christmas spirit.  We all had a great time and the students’ behaviour was exemplary.  As a result everyone is looking forward to the next Sixth Form social event in February!  Well done to everyone who went.

Christmas card competition

Congratulations to the winners of our recent Christmas card competition, Raquel in year 6C, Rodrigo in year 2R and Ellie in 7B. Raquel´s design has been made into an e-card and sent to parents and staff .

MADD days

Our junior school children had a wonderful time during our recent MADD days.  Using the painting, The Umbrellas by Pierre-Auguste Renoir as a stimulus, the children sang, danced, painted and performed their way through two days of fun and creativity.  I was impressed by the ethusiasm of the children for this event and by the high quality work they produced.  Our art coordinator, Mr Hooker will be creating a display to showcase the children´s work and celebrate their success.  Thank you to all the teachers and assistants for their hard work in making this event such a success.

Higher Education Fair visit

Years 11 and 12 had the opportunity to attend the Higher Education Fair.  A number of British Universities, including Cambridge and Imperial College attended, to guide students in the courses they offer and the grades they would expect from applicants in their IGCSEs, AS Levels and A Levels.  The students made excellent use of the time, chatting to the various representatives and attending a presentation on how to apply to UK universities.  If parents would like to know more about British Universities, the best place to go to is; it has pretty much everything you need to know.

UN Day

We celebrated UN Day and it was a fantastic, colourful event full of music, dance, art and fun, culminating in our annual multicultural food fair. It was wonderful to see the children so enthusiastically engaged in learning about their own culture and the cultures of their teachers and peers.

We would like to take this opportunity thank all the parents and family members who helped to make it such a special day by providing costumes for the children, contributing the many tasty and diverse dishes of food and making the effort to come along in the afternoon to celebrate with our school.
