Who we are
St. George is a private British school, located in the upper side of Barcelona city, with classes from two years old. We have students from more than 40 different nationalities who, from the first day, learn English with native teachers. For us, the most important thing is that each child reaches their own maximum potential and aims for excellence so that they have all the tools they need to excel in the future.
Letter from our Headteacher
I warmly welcome you to St. George Barcelona. I hope this website helps you to understand why our teaching and learning environment is so special and why we have established a strong reputation for our academic achievements, creativity and performance work and the importance of social and emotional developments of each and every child in our school.
Our environment and ethos is built on the foundations of five core values: responsibility, respect, kindness, fairness and personal best. These values are instilled into the children right from the time that they enter our school. We want the children to understand that life is not always about rules but about what they know is right or wrong in this interdependent world. Our aim is that every child leaves our school with high academic achievements where they have fulfilled their potential; as young people who have a high emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills and are true problem solvers who can think.
Happiness in children is vital if they are to achieve their best. We put all our efforts and passion into the children to ensure they are happy, contented and secure at the school. We run many activities throughout the year to develop and encourage self esteem and confidence.
These events can also often give children a platform for skills and strengths that often are not evident in the classroom, such as, talent shows, speech competitions, art competitions, music activities, sports competitions. The primary children all take part in class assemblies each year to perform to the parents and all children are involved in at least one other major performance.
Our children and staff feel very proud of the school and we believe that we offer the best and most personal education and care you can give to children. The school operates like one big family, where we all have our different roles, we all respect each other and we all want the best for each other. As a staff team we are focused on continuously building a school of excellence where children are motivated and challenged, where learning is exciting and fun and where all children are loved and nurtured to be the very best they can be.
Please come and see our school and discover for yourself what we could offer your child in the most important years of their lives.
